Duncan is a partner in our Technology, Digital, Data and IP group. He advises clients on a full range of technology, data, intellectual property and commercial contract matters across all sectors, including in relation to M&A transactions, complex business carve outs, emerging technology and digital strategy.

Duncan was a medical doctor prior to becoming a lawyer and also advises across a range of transactions in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare fields.

He is named in Legal 500 UK, 2024 as a Leading Individual for IT & Telecoms and Commercial Contracts.

His experience includes advising:

  • Vodafone in connection with the proposed merger of Vodafone Limited and Hutchison 3G UK Limited, including the drafting and negotiation of multiple long-term strategic supply, services and brand arrangements that will provide business critical, and business generating, services to the merged business.
  • Coca-Cola Europacific Partners on the creation of its joint venture with Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc, including advising on the services arrangements relating to the joint venture's key bottling operations and the integration of the business into CCEP's wider group services framework.
  • Reckitt on the brand licensing and services arrangements relating to: (i) the sale of its Infant Formula and Child Nutrition business in China to Primavera Capital Group; and (ii) the sale of Scholl to Yellow Wood Partners.
  • Schneider Electric on the technology supply and licensing arrangements relating to its sale of its Eurotherm business to Watlow Electric Manufacturing Company.
  • The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity on its long-term partnership with Ralph Lauren, including its key brand licensing arrangements.
  • Whitbread on the supply and services arrangements relating to its sale of Costa to The Coca-Cola Company.
  • GSK on the brand and services-related aspects of divestment of its core consumer healthcare nutrition brands to Unilever.
  • Burberry on its strategic partnership with Coty Inc. in relation to Burberry's beauty business.
  • Ericsson in connection with its IT transformation and build program for Veon across Europe and Asia.
